Why I Am Passionate About Being A Financial Advisor

So many people find themselves stuck in a career they aren’t passionate about or don’t enjoy. In fact, two-thirds of people are disengaged with their job. I feel incredibly fortunate that I have a career I love and that I look forward to going into the office every day.
There are a few reasons why I am passionate about being an advisor.
1. The Ability to Help People
I realize this may sound cliché, but the truth is, I like to be able to help people. There are so many situations I’ve come across where a client was sold investment or insurance products that were not in their best interest. I take pride in my fiduciary commitment and enjoy being able to provide clients trusted advice and financial strategies that are created with their needs and goals in mind.
2. Inspiring Confidence
In all that I do, my goal is to provide my clients with confidence. I want them to feel confident that they have the information they need to make big financial decisions. By helping them gain clarity about where they stand financially and where they’re headed, they can feel comfortable and confident about their future.
3. Serving as A Go-To Resource
One of my favorite parts about being a financial advisor is having answers to clients’ questions. So many times, my clients are wrestling with a financial decision and it is so fulfilling to be able to serve as their go-to resource for all things financial. I always tell my clients they can contact me whenever they have questions, big or small.
4. Building Close Relationships
Being a trusted advisor, whose clients consider me as part of their family is the ultimate compliment. While people may work with a few professionals, like a CPA, lawyer, or doctor, none have the same type of impact as a financial advisor. Often, I serve as a friend, confidant, and advisor for life. I feel that being an advisor is one of the few careers that allows you to combine technical expertise and personal relationship skills. I truly enjoy both aspects.
5. Building My Knowledge
I love both the financial planning and investment management aspects of the job. They require different skill sets and both are important to a client’s financial lives and success. With this comes a need to stay up-to-date on industry trends and strategies. This job is challenging, which I love. Being knowledgeable technically and being skilled with people and handling their emotions isn’t easy, but it’s so rewarding.
In all that I do, I aim to empower my clients with clarity and confidence around their financial lives. I want to inspire them to become fully engaged in their financial affairs, naturally leading to feelings of power and strength over their lives and optimism about their future.
